The Role
This is a key leadership position within the Club. The Retail Manager will oversee all aspects of the retail operation — from purchasing and merchandising to supplier relationships and staff training. With over 1,800 members and thousands of visiting golfers each year, this is a unique opportunity to shape and grow a prestigious retail environment at one of the world’s most iconic golf clubs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Club Shop, ensuring exceptional service for members and visitors.
  • Select, purchase, and manage merchandise within budget.
  • Analyse sales and trends to drive performance.
  • Oversee merchandising, shop displays, and seasonal product layouts.
  • Maintain stock control, invoicing systems, and accurate reporting.
  • Train and develop staff to deliver a first-class customer experience.
  • Build strong supplier relationships and negotiate pricing.

About You

  • 3+ years of retail management or buying experience.
  • Background in retail merchandise, fashion, or a related field.
  • Experience in luxury brands or the golf industry (beneficial, not essential).
  • Strong financial, budgeting, and inventory management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, negotiate, and deliver results.
